The Chanhassen City Council has approved an agreement with MetroNet to bring the company’s fiber optic network to the city. To date, Chanhassen and many other communities had really only one internet provider: CenturyLink. MetroNet offers a direct fiber optic connection to customers’ homes. Because of the direct fiber connection, MetroNet has the fastest speeds available in Chanhassen.

“We are pleased to be able to add another option for internet and cable service,” Mayor of Chanhassen, Elise Ryan said to SW News Media. “We do believe that adding competition to the market is important as we hope it elevates all service in this area.”
